Responsibilities of the Sector for Postal Transport

The Sector for Postal Transport performs duties related to:


• preparing proposals for establishing and pursuing Government policy in the sphere of postal transport at national and international level;
• preparing a draft basis for participation in international conferences, seminars, workshops and meetings;
• cooperation and participation in the work of international global and regional organisations in the sphere of postal transport, initiating measures for enhancing and encouraging research and development of postal services;
• cooperation in cross-sector committees with the aim of initiating joint measures in the sphere of postal services;
• drafting plans, programmes and work reports in the sphere of postal services, preparing professional bases for the formulation of draft laws and other draft documents;
• monitoring the development of European regulations with the aim of harmonising them with our legislation;
• cooperation in drafting comparative analyses with other countries, and cooperation with other public administration agencies with the aim of implementing projects;
• administrative procedure;
• supervision of the application of laws and regulations stemming thereof, and initiating measures for removing irregularities;
• participation in the preparation of national and international plans;
• preparing analyses, reports and material that serve as a basis for the enhancement of policy development in the sphere of postal transport, and its harmonisation with international standards and recommendations, as well as other duties in the Sector's purview.
