Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society

The National Information Technology and Internet Agency was established by the Law on Ministries, as a special organisation that performs professional public administration duties related to:
• the enhancement, development and operation of the information system within state authorities, local governments and public services
• the application and usage of the internet in the work of state authorities, local governments and public services
• data protection
• developing and applying standards in the introduction of information technologies within state authorities, as well as
• other legally-prescribed duties
In the context of international practice and generally accepted terms, the defined purview covers the general components of development and electronic government (e-Government) system implementation.
